Recording Course I - Fundamental Recording Skills
- 12 weeks |
Class Starts February 2nd!
This entry-level
course offers a comprehensive overview of the
recording industry.
Course study includes:
* Recording history
* Psychoacoustics of sound
* Microphone theory
* Studio design and acoustics
* Signal processing and effects
* Sound design
* Production
* Product manufacturing
* Consoles
* Analog and digital recording formats
Along with learning the fundamental theories of
recording, youšll also gain the hands-on experience
of recording a band in the studio. This step by
step process covers all the basic skills necessary
to run a recording session. Included within the
program will be guest lectures by industry professionals
sharing their own industry tips and experience.
Each student completes the course by engineering
his or her own mix of the class project. Students
are awarded a training certificate upon successful
completion of program.

Recording Course II - Advanced Skills - 12 weeks |
This second
program offers the student the ability to expand
their knowledge of recording with hands-on techniques
and advanced ear training. While recording a band
in studio, greater detail is brought to the areas
of microphone techniques, signal processing and
mixing. Having each student engineer their own
mix of the class project completes the course.
Students are awarded a training certificate upon
successful completion of program.

| Digital Audio Recording
Course I - An Introduction to ProTools
- 12 weeks |
Class Starts February 1st!
This
program focuses on the use of computers in the
recording industry. Students gain knowledge on
the recording fundamentals within the digital
environment. Training concentrates specifically
on the ProTools 001, 002, M-Box and
HTDM recording systems.
Course study includes:
* Basic computer skills
* Computer recording
* Editing
* Mixing and mastering
Other topics will include automation, hardware
interface, MIDI sequencing, proper system maintenance,
storage devices, backup and plug-ins.
The course is completed by having each student
engineer their own mix of the class project.

| Advanced Digital Recording
II - Intermediate ProTools Techniques
- 12 weeks |
This
course offers intensive engineering on the ProTools
computer recording system. Advanced techniques
in editing recording and mixing will be utilized
as the student is allowed creative control over
their own version of the class project. Students
engineer a studio recording from start to finish
with advice from the instructor. The course is
completed by having each student engineer their
own mix of the class project.

COST AND REGISTRATION: The cost of each program is $450.00 plus applicable
textbooks. Programs are run once a week at approximately three hours per class. Registration includes a completed application accompanied
by a $50.00 non-refundable deposit.
